Niche Structure is a Structural Engineering practice based near Haslemere in Surrey and close to the Hamsphire and West Sussex borders.
The practice is run by Richard Thomas who is a Chartered Structural Engineer and member of the prestigious Institution of Structural Engineers. Richard graduated with a First Class degree in Civil Engineering and initially worked in this field building a motorway viaduct in the Cotswolds. Moving on to work for a Structural Engineering consultancy in London, during the mid 90’s, Richard worked on many prestigious buildings including Admiralty Arch and the homes of Gary Lineker and Elton John’s ex-manager, John Reid! His work in London included the recent trend for designing new basements under existing houses and one project in this sector included an underground and partly below water, squash court.
Richard has broad experience across a range of building types, including major refurbishment and historic listed buildings.
